Veronica joined Onyx Law Group as an Associate Counsel in 2021. She practices exclusively in the areas of estates and trusts, and works with clients all across British Columbia.
Veronica thrives on helping individuals and families navigate seemingly complex estate planning and administration matters. In her estate planning practice, she helps clients create estate plans that effectively transfer wealth and guard against future incapacity, disability or other changes in circumstance. She regularly assists clients with the following:
- Wills
- Powers of Attorney
- Representation Agreements (for health care)
- Bare Trust Agreements and Deeds of Gift
- Plans to transfer real estate
- Alter Ego Trusts and Joint Partner Trusts
- Disability Trusts
In her probate and administration practice, she works with clients who have been named executor in a will, who seek to be appointed administrator of an estate, or who are named trustee of a trust. She advises her clients each step of the way and helps them to navigate the probate and administration process from the moment an individual passes away until the estate or trust can be distributed and wound up. Her practice also involves working with out-of-country executors and administrators who wish to have their foreign estate grants recognized in British Columbia.
Prior to becoming an estates solicitor, Veronica trained as a litigator at a boutique firm in Toronto and as a corporate banker for a Canadian bank.
Veronica resides with her family in the North Okanagan where they enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking and boating. She loves playing softball, golf and getting out for a waterski.Veronica welcomes clients from all across British Columbia as most of the work can be carried out remotely. Clients located in the lower mainland are supported by our offices in Vancouver and New Westminster. She is available to meet clients in person who are located in the North Okanagan.
