Marpole estate matters, handled from Kerrisdale

Marpole sits at the south end of Vancouver’s west side, near the Oak Street and Granville bridges over the Fraser to Richmond. Our closest office is up the hill in Kerrisdale at Suite 201, 5455 West Boulevard, a short drive north on Granville or Oak. Marpole clients meet us there.

Probate for Marpole estates is filed at the BC Supreme Court registry in the Vancouver Law Courts, 800 Smithe Street. When someone dies without a will, the Wills, Estates and Succession Act doesn’t leave the estate in limbo: a family member applies for a grant of administration, and the court appoints an administrator who does the work a named executor otherwise would — collecting assets, paying debts, and distributing under the intestacy rules. We prepare that application, sort out who has priority to apply, and guide the administrator through the accounting that follows.
