Serving Aldergrove estates from our New Westminster office

Onyx Law Group doesn’t keep an office in Aldergrove. Our closest one is in New Westminster, at 26 Fourth Street, roughly a 40-minute drive west along Highway 1 from the community’s farmland and the shops near Fraser Highway and 264th Street. We meet Aldergrove families there, by phone, or by video, whichever is easier for them.

Aldergrove sits in the Township of Langley, and Langley has no Supreme Court registry of its own. Probate and estate files for the area are usually opened at the New Westminster Supreme Court registry, though the Abbotsford registry is a shorter trip for households on the eastern edge near the Abbotsford line. Probate is the court’s confirmation that an executor has authority to act. Under the Wills, Estates and Succession Act, in force since 2014, the executor also has to send a notice to beneficiaries and to anyone who would inherit on an intestacy at least 21 days before applying for the grant.
