Estate lawyers serving Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant centres on Main Street and the Broadway corridor, just south of False Creek. The nearest Onyx office is downtown at Suite 1215, 650 West Georgia Street, a few minutes over the Cambie or Main Street bridge. That puts our estate team close to both the neighbourhood and the courthouse.

Mount Pleasant estates are administered at the Vancouver Law Courts, 800 Smithe Street, where the BC Supreme Court probate registry sits — a short walk from our downtown office. Once the registry issues a grant, the executor becomes a fiduciary: they have to keep estate money separate, account to the beneficiaries for what comes in and goes out, and can be held personally responsible for distributing wrongly. The Wills, Estates and Succession Act frames those duties. We advise executors on getting them right and act for beneficiaries who think an executor has not.
