White Rock estates, handled from New Westminster

White Rock overlooks Semiahmoo Bay at the south end of Surrey, with its pier and the promenade along Marine Drive. Our nearest office is in New Westminster at 26 Fourth Street, roughly 35 minutes north on Highway 99. Onyx Law Group doesn’t keep a White Rock office; we meet clients from the area in New Westminster or work with them remotely when that’s simpler.

Surrey has no Supreme Court registry, so estate files for White Rock are usually opened at the New Westminster Supreme Court registry. A detail that trips up new executors: before applying for probate, you have to give written notice to everyone named in the will and everyone who would inherit if there were no will, then wait at least 21 days after that notice before filing. The Wills, Estates and Succession Act sets those steps out, and skipping them can hold up the whole grant.
